New to Jesus? Start Here

Maybe you've heard about Jesus your whole life but never really knew Him. Maybe you're curious about faith, or maybe you're going through something that's made you start searching for answers.

Whatever brought you here, I'm glad you came. You don't have to know the Bible, have all the answers, or get your life together before coming to Jesus. He loves you right where you are.

This page is here to help you understand who Jesus is, why He came, and how you can begin a personal relationship with Him.

Who Is Jesus?

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He came into this world because God loves us and wants us to have a relationship with Him. Jesus lived a perfect, sinless life. He taught people about God's love, healed the sick, forgave sinners, and showed us what it means to love one another.

But Jesus came for an even greater purpose. He willingly gave His life on the cross to pay the price for our sins. Three days later, He rose from the dead, defeating sin and death. Through Jesus, we can receive forgiveness, salvation, and the promise of eternal life.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 (NIV)

You don't have to be perfect to come to Jesus. He already knows everything about you, and He loves you. All He asks is that you come to Him in faith.

Why Do We Need Jesus?

We have all sinned. Sin is anything we do that goes against God's will, and it separates us from Him.

"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," Romans 3:23 (NIV)

None of us are perfect. We've all made mistakes and done things we're not proud of. But God loves us so much that He made a way for us to be forgiven. That's why Jesus came. When Jesus died on the cross, He took the punishment for our sins. He did for us what we could never do for ourselves.

"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8 (NIV)

We cannot earn salvation by being good enough or doing enough good things. Salvation is a gift from God, received through faith in Jesus Christ. No matter what you've done or how far you've wandered, you can turn to Jesus and receive His forgiveness. Your past doesn't have to determine your future. Through Jesus, you can become a new creation.

How Do I Accept Jesus Into My Life?

Beginning a relationship with Jesus is simpler than you might think. You don't have to clean up your life first or become a different person before coming to Him. The Bible tells us that salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ.

"If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9 (NIV)

Accepting Jesus means believing that He is the Son of God, that He died for your sins, and that He rose again. It means turning away from sin, asking for His forgiveness, and choosing to follow Him. You don't need special words or a perfect prayer. God knows your heart.

A Prayer to Begin Your Journey

Heavenly Father,

I know I've sinned, and I need Your forgiveness. I believe Jesus is Your Son, that He died on the cross for my sins, and that You raised Him from the dead. Lord, I want to turn away from my old ways and begin a new life with You. Please forgive me, guide me, and help me grow in my faith. Thank You for loving me and giving me this opportunity to know You.

In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

If you prayed this sincerely and placed your faith in Jesus, you've taken an important step in your journey with Him. Remember, it's not the prayer itself that saves you. It's God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

What Do I Do Next?

Accepting Jesus is the beginning of a beautiful new journey. You don't have to know everything about being a Christian right away. As you spend time with God, you'll begin to understand His Word and learn how to follow Him. Here are a few ways to begin growing in your faith.

Start Reading the Bible

The Bible is God's Word, and it's one of the ways we get to know Him. If you're not sure where to begin, try the Gospel of John. It tells us about Jesus, His teachings, and why He came. You don't have to read a lot at once. Even a few verses each day can help you grow in your understanding.

Talk to God Through Prayer

Prayer is simply talking to God. You don't need fancy words or a special place to pray. Talk to Him about your day, thank Him for your blessings, ask for guidance, and bring your worries to Him. God wants a relationship with you, and prayer is an important part of that relationship.

Find a Church

Being around other Christians can help you grow in your faith. Look for a church that teaches the Bible, shares the gospel of Jesus Christ, and encourages you to develop a personal relationship with Him. You weren't meant to walk this journey alone.

Learn About Baptism

Baptism is an important step of obedience for someone who has placed their faith in Jesus. It's a public declaration of your faith and represents your new life in Christ. If you haven't been baptized, talk with a pastor about what baptism means and how you can take that step.

Keep Following Jesus

There will be days when you struggle or make mistakes. Following Jesus doesn't mean you'll suddenly become perfect. When you fall short, turn back to Him. Keep praying, keep learning, and keep trusting Him.Remember, God isn't finished working in your life. He's just getting started.

You're Never Too Far Gone

Maybe you've made mistakes you wish you could undo. Maybe you've spent years running from God, believing you've gone too far for Him to forgive you. I want you to know something. You're never too far gone for Jesus. It doesn't matter where you've been or what you've done. When you turn to Jesus, He offers forgiveness, grace, and the opportunity for a new beginning.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)

I know what it's like to feel lost and wonder if life could ever be different. But I also know what Jesus can do when we surrender our lives to Him. He changed my life, and I believe He can change yours, too. You don't have to let your past define who you are. In Christ, you can have a new identity, a new purpose, and a future filled with hope.
