To the Woman Who Feels Unworthy

Dear Friend,

I don't know what you've been through or what you've done in your life, but there's something I want you to know. You are not beyond God's love. I wish I had understood that a long time ago because I spent so many years believing that the things I'd done made me unworthy of being loved.

I've made plenty of mistakes in my life. I've made choices I'm not proud of, hurt people I love, and done things I wish I could take back. For a long time, I let those things define me. I wondered how God could possibly want anything to do with someone like me. Maybe you've felt that way too.

But something changed when I gave my life to Jesus. I started learning that His love wasn't something I had to earn. He already knew everything about me, including the things I was ashamed of, and He still wanted me. That was hard for me to understand because I'd spent so much of my life believing love came with conditions.

I used to think I needed to get my life together before I could come to God. But I had it backward. I needed Jesus because I couldn't fix everything on my own. And the more I got to know Him, the more I began to understand what forgiveness really meant.

Romans 8:1 (NIV) says:

"Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,"

Think about that for a minute. No condemnation. I spent years beating myself up over things Jesus was willing to forgive. Even after I surrendered my life to Him, I sometimes found myself looking back and feeling ashamed all over again. But I've learned that God wants me to learn from my past, not spend the rest of my life trapped in it.

Maybe there are things you've done that nobody else knows about. Maybe you've asked God to forgive you, but you're still having a hard time forgiving yourself. I understand that more than you know. But please don't let shame convince you that God doesn't want you. Jesus knew we needed forgiveness. That's why He went to the cross.

Following Jesus didn't erase my past or make every consequence disappear. But He changed the way I see myself. I can acknowledge the things I've done without letting them define who I am today. I'm not proud of every chapter of my story, but I'm grateful that God didn't give up on me. And I don't believe He's given up on you either.

You don't have to wait until you feel worthy to come to Jesus. You don't have to have all the answers or know exactly how you're going to change. Just come to Him. Be honest about where you are and what you're struggling with. He already knows, and He loves you enough to meet you there.

I'm still learning and growing in my own walk with God. I still make mistakes, and sometimes I have to remind myself of the very things I'm telling you. But I don't want another woman spending years believing she's too far gone for the same grace that saved me.

So if you're carrying shame today, I hope you'll give it to Jesus. You can't change yesterday, and neither can I. But you don't have to let yesterday decide who you are for the rest of your life.

Your past is part of your story, but it doesn't have to be the end of it. Jesus is still writing the rest.

With love,

Jana
